Achieving Speaking Confidence

About Us

Would you like to speak more confidently in public:

Then joining our Halifax and Huddersfield Speakers Club can help you!

Learning to speak in public is a way of building your self confidence personally, at work and socially. Our Speakers Club is fun, friendly and made up of people just like you!

Together we can help you conquer your fears and achieve your goals. Your public speaking development will be at a pace that you dictate and you can enjoy yourself at the same time!

Our Club is a mutual self-help organisation and everyone in the Club started, just like you, with a fear of public speaking - you will find Club members with a mix of abilities!

Our meetings provide the opportunity for members to practice and receive feedback on prepared speeches and also to have a go at impromptu public speaking.

Our membership is diverse and experience ranges from complete nervous beginners to more experienced speakers. We take it in turns to speak and evaluate each other in a supportive and constructive way.

Beginners will be supported and encouraged as much or as little as they feel comfortable. Our group does not pressurise people to speak but if you do try you’ll be surprised how quickly nerves and fear of speaking in front of an audience disappears!
